News|Shakespeare in the Park in SingaporeTaking place every year in May, the festival treats audiences to open-air performances of some of the Bard's best works in Fort Canning Park. Presented by the Singapore Repertory Theatre (SRT), the plays are held across four days from 19:30 local time, with crowds gathering beneath the stars to see the latest production. This year, the group performed Shakespeare's classic romantic comedy Much Ado About Nothing, which is thought to have made its debut in the theatres back in 1598. SRT has not yet released details of next year's play, but audiences can expect to see another of the playwright's most famous scripts acted out in all its glory. Established to help give Singaporeans and visitors to the region a taste of Broadway and West End theatre, SRT is now renowned as one of Asia's leading English-language performance groups. It has presented a string of western classics including Little Shop of Horrors, Hamlet, The Glass Menagerie and Death of a Salesman. Book your Stay at the Orchard Hotel Singapore
