The ballet production of the classic fairytale the Nutcracker comes to Singapore next month, organisers have announced.

Coinciding with the holiday season, the production will be on show between Friday December 12th and Saturday December 20th, and will be staged at the Esplanade Theatre.

During the limited run, theatre-lovers will have the chance to appreciate the magical tale of little Clara and her exciting adventures after she receives an intricately-crafted nutcracker doll from Dr Drosselmeyer.

At midnight, the Nutcracker doll comes alive to save her when her room is invaded by dozens of rats.

The production features an alternating casts of 200 dancers in full costume and an impressive set complete with animated backdrops.

Ticket prices range from between S$48 and S$138. A range of family packages are also available including category two (S$300 for two and adults and two children) and category three (S$250 for two adults and two children).

Visitors should note that there will be no performances between December 14th and 16th inclusive.
