News|Tiefschwarz to play at Zouk this monthThe German-based duo, made up of brothers Ali and Basti Schwarz, will provide house and electro music at the popular venue on Saturday November 22nd. Tiefschwarz (meaning "deep black") takes inspiration from their experiences as DJs during the 1990s at the popular clubs Ali ran in Stuttgard - ON-U between 1990 and 1993 and Red Dog between 1993 and 1997. The pair moved on the raves and larger clubs, hosting names such as Tony Humphries and Masters At Work. They have also remixed tracks for artists such as Kelis and The Rapture, which has led to recognition on the international stage. Tiefschwarz's remix of Spektrum's track Kinda New in 2003 further cemented their public profile in the clubbing circuit as well as on the mainstream music arena. In celebration of ten years in the Djing business, Tiefschwarz recently released a mix tape in homage to their creative influences including Tuff Little Unit, Frankie Knuckles, Ewan Pearson and Marianne Faithfull.
