News|Puccini's Turandot in SingaporePuccini's final masterpiece is set in the Forbidden City of Beijing and tells the story of a beautiful but ruthless princess whom three suitors are interested in. These men must answer three riddles or they will die. However, when a brave young prince attempts to win her heart, he unleashes an astonishing test of sacrifice, loyalty and love. Included is the aria Nessun Dorma, immortalised by the late Italian tenor Luciano Pavarotti. This performance will be sung in Italian with English and Chinese subtitles, and will involve an international cast. It will feature the Singapore Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Tsung Yeh. Performances will be on nightly at 20:00 from August 29th until September 3rd. Ticket prices vary.
