News|Patrick Watson live in SingaporeThe Canadian artist will be joined by his band of talented musicians as he takes to the stage at the Esplanade Theatre on the Bay on the evening of January 19th. Since rising to fame with the release of its 2007 album Close to Paradise, the group, also named Patrick Watson, has enjoyed global success, selling over 100,000 copies worldwide. The band's fan base has grown further in recent years as more people tune in to its unique blend of cabaret pop, classical music and indie rock influences. Last year, Patrick Watson released its third studio album Wooden Arms, which experienced similar success to its predecessor, spawning hits such as Beijing, Fireweed and Hommage. The band's Singapore gig will be performed at the Esplanade Recital Studio, with only 200 seats available, so fans will need to move quickly to avoid missing out on the show. Having been compared to artists such as Pink Floyd, Rufus Wainwright and Jeff Buckley in some quarters, the group is likely to enjoy further success over the coming years as its fan base continues to grow.
