News|National Chinese Music Competition 2008Featuring more than 500 young musicians, the biennial event takes place at the Esplanade Recital Studio, Yong Siew Toh Conservatory Concert Hall and Singapore Conference Hall between Tuesday December 2nd and Sunday December 14th. Participants will all be competing in categories such as ensemble and solo performances on the dizi, erhu, guzheng, pipa, suona, yangqin and zhongruan, to come away with the top prize. The competitions will culminate in the Prize Winners' Concert on Saturday December 13th at 19:30 (local time), which will feature a range of young musical talent. A series of master classes will also take place on Sunday December 14th between 9:00 and 17:00 conducted by the competition's international adjudicators. Admission is free to the preliminary and final rounds of the competition but tickets to the Prize Winner's Concert cost $10, while entrance to the master classes costs $5 per session.
