Fans of US soul musician James Ingram may wish to book their stay in a Singapore hotel ahead of the singer's arrival in the city next year.

Ingram will bring his smooth vocal style to the stage at the Esplanade Theatre on the Bay on January 23rd, giving fans a chance to see the star in action.

Audiences can expect to hear tracks from the singer's latest album Stand (In the Light), which was released earlier this year and features a series of inspirational songs and lyrics.

The collection includes new material such as Don't Let Go, Mercy and Everlast, as well as remakes of popular tracks from the past such as the 1983 hit Yah Mo B There, performed with Michael McDonald.

Despite releasing several of his own albums over the years, Ingram remains most popular for his hit collaborations, having worked with a number of well-known artists.

He scored a number one hit with Patti Austin for the song Baby, Come to Me and also teamed up with singers such as Kenny Rogers, Ray Charles, Michael McDonald and Natalie Cole.
