Operatic virtuoso Fan Jingma is scheduled to perform a vocal recital in Singapore next week as part of the Chinese Festival of Arts 2009.

The Chinese-based singer will perform at the Esplanade Concert Hall on Saturday January 31st at 19:30 (local time).

Singing in Mandarin, Russian and Italian, Jingma will perform a number of notable operatic compositions to the delight of classical music lovers.

Jingma first gained international acclaim after he scooped the third prize at the Cardiff Singer of the World Competition.

Since then, he has gone on to dizzying heights, claiming the silver medal at the Rosa Ponselle International Vocal Competition and first prize in the Opera Index Vocal Competition in New York.

Jingma has performed at numerous prestigious events including the Singapore Arts Festival with the Singapore Chinese Orchestra in 2005. He has also recently performed at the opening ceremony of the Beijing 2008 Paralympics Games.
