Sentosa Island is a popular and beautiful island resort in Singapore that provides numerous attractions for tourists looking for a fun filled way to pass their time in Singapore. Lovely pristine beaches and two golf courses are just some of the attractions of Sentosa Island.

One of these great attractions is the Tiger Sky Tower, which is the tallest free standing tower in Asia. The tower offers panoramic views of Sentosa Island, Singapore and on clear days, glimpses of neighboring Indonesia and Malaysia. Visitors enter the attraction through a disc shaped cabin with glass windows to observe the view outside on the ground floor. Eventually this disc shaped cabin beings to revolve as it ascends to the top of the tower providing 360 degree views of the surrounding area.

Sentosa is also home to two marine life related attractions. The Underwater World oceanarium features a large collection of living exhibits that are housed in its underground complex. Visitors move along a conveyor belt and can witness the wide array of marine life that is presented to them all around the transparent cylindrical tunnel. It’s the next best thing to diving in to the sea itself. But should you wish to do so, there is a scuba diving option on offer as well.

Another interesting venue is Fort Siloso; a former military structure built by the British and refurbished during the Second World War. It is the only remaining station on the island out of the original 12 batteries that were present on the island. The fort’s barracks, tunnels, and gun emplacements are all featured on a ride to discover the history of this old Fort.

In addition, visitors can speed down a hill in a gravity driven three wheel cart that is driven purely by momentum at the Sentosa Luge and Skyride. The island also holds the largest Merlion (the official mascot of the country) in Singapore which towers at 37 metres above the ground.

Visitors to Singapore will find numerous entertainment opportunities available at this exciting attraction. And the traveller in search of a Sentosa hotel will be more than delighted with the M Hotel Singapore, as it enjoys close proximity to the island along with quick and easy access to the many shopping, entertainment and business districts in the city of Singapore.
