Location & Attractions|Financial DistrictTwo of the most prominent buildings in the area are the UOB Plaza and OUB Centre. Both of these two skyscrapers tower to a maximum height of 280 metres. UOB Plaza consists of two towers located next to each other which are connected by a podium type structure at the bottom. The two respective buildings UOB Plaza One and UOB Plaza Two share the collective name, but the two buildings are not identical. The central attraction is the taller UOB Plaza One. Besides gazing at this marvelous structure from the outside, guests can step inside and ride to the 38th storey and gaze at a panoramic view of the Singapore skyline. At the 60th floor is a restaurant called "Top of the Plaza" that allows guests to enjoy a fantastic meal while gazing at a supreme overview of Singapore. The equally tall OUB Centre that is also in the financial district is home to retail centres, and offices. Featuring 6 floors of shopping outlets and 60 office floors; the OUB Centre is a hive of activity. The Lau Pa Sat Festival Market is yet another interesting venue in Singapore. This market is housed in an octagonal shaped structure that was built way back in 1894. Since being reconstructed and declared a national monument, the Lau Pa Sat Festival Market houses a myriad of souvenir stalls and food outlets for guests to indulge in. During the day its food outlets mainly cater to the business crowd, but after sunset the atmosphere beings to come to life in true Singaporean hawker style. The M Hotel is a Singapore hotel near the Financial District that provides an excellent opportunity to explore the numerous attractions on offer in the Financial District. In addition to this its location will also allow you to explore the rest of Singapore with ease. |
