News|Huayi Festival in SingaporeHeld each year as part of the city's Chinese New Year celebrations, the event aims to showcase the works and talents of Singapore's Chinese population. Visitors can expect to enjoy plenty of entertainment, with a varied programme of theatre, music and dance from both traditional and contemporary artists. Launched in 2003, the festival has grown to become an internationally-recognised event, attracting audiences from all over Singapore and beyond. Next year's celebrations run from February 19th to 28th 2010, with the majority of the action taking place in the Esplanade region of the city. As well as giving visitors a taste of some of the most dynamic forms of Chinese art and culture, the festival allows for interaction between audiences and performers.
