News|Big names to play Singapore OpenPhil Mickelson, Ernie Els and Darren Clarke will all be present during the event, which runs from November 13th to 16th. The action will take place at the Sentosa Golf Club and is the highest-paying golf competition with Asia, along with the HSBC tournament in Shanghai, with prize money totalling $5 million (£2.8 million). Two of the big names playing will want to improve on last year's performance - Mickelson only managed to tie for 23rd place, while Els didn't even make the cut - although both men had problems with illness. Argentina's Angel Cabrera won the tournament in 2007. So while you may not be playing at the Singapore Open, you surely don't want to miss the chance to see some of the world's top golfers in action, meaning you should book your Singapore hotel now.
