Singapore Heritage Fest is an annual signature event organised by the Education and Outreach Division of the National Heritage Board. The event brings an exciting and interactive journey to explore the rich cultural diversity of Singapore with heritage tours, exhibitions and concerts to culinary events. The many activities and events of the fest lures in both the young and old catering to a wide range of interests.
The fest aims to showcase how the ethnic groups encourage racial harmony and the Singaporeans’ methods of integrating different traditions and cultures to maintain cohesiveness and peace within the society as a whole. A line up of interesting performances and programmes are presented by various ethnic groups through various forms of art.
This years’ edition of the Singapore Heritage fest is set to take place from 15th to 31st of July at various festival venues. A special concert featuring popular local music will take place at Fort Canning Green. Each of the Heartland Hubs will feature colourful performances and exhibitions with different themes.
One of the two major events of the heritage fest is ‘Hilly Happenings’ which will take place at Fort Canning Park from 22nd to 24th of July. The other event is the ‘Festival Finale’ set to take place at River Valley from 29th to 31st of July. It is specially created to offer visiting families a memorable experience.
The activity highlights of the fest includes the feature ‘Mad About Mapping’ which is a special type of mapping competition designed for the school kids and the general public. An event offering amazing experiences galore, the Singapore Heritage Fest is truly one of a kind.
