News|Ramadan in SingaporeThis is a real chance for visitors to the country to get to know the locals and be a part of their way of life. During the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, which takes place from September 1st to September 29th this year, Muslims fast from dawn to dusk but break fast when the sun goes down, during which they perform special prayers. The aim of Ramadan is to remind people of those less fortunate. Ramadan festivities take place during the hours of darkness, starting at 18:30, with traditional dance performances one of the highlights. Food will also be on offer, including congee, noodles, rice and bread, which is washed down with kathira, a drink made of passion fruit and milk. So don't miss out this excellent opportunity to understand a little bit more about both Singapore and the Islamic month of Ramadan.
