News|Nine Emperor Gods Festival in SingaporeThis celebration, from September 29th to October 7th, sees nine days of street parades, blessings and Chinese opera take place in honour of the nine gods which grant good fortune, health and longevity on participants. There is a sea of noise and colour during the festival, which can be seen at any one of the temples throughout Singapore. And at the end of the festival, images of the gods take part in a parade in the street which followers can watch, bathed in the smoke of incense sticks. Coming just at the end of Ramadan, people staying in a Singapore hotel for that event's end and this one's beginning will get a real sense of the multi-cultural nature of Singapore.
