India Splendor - a one-day Bollywood extravaganza - is scheduled to take place in Singapore in the New Year, organisers have confirmed.

The South Asian-inspired event will take place at the Esplanade Concert Hall on Friday January 2nd 2009 from 19:00 (local time).

Leading Bollywood singers Sunidhi Chauhan and Kunal Ganjawala will head the proceedings, singing a range of classic songs.

The family-friendly entertainment event will also feature a host of performances, bringing a piece of India to south-east Asia.

As part of this year's event, organisers said India Splendor will revolve around the theme "heritage, holistic and hi tech" and will provide a "meaningful dialogue" between artists, writers, filmmakers, spiritual leaders and businesspeople around the world.

Last year, India Splendor took place in Los Angeles and showcased a selection of contemporary Indian cinema, arts, fashion, dance and music.

Tickets to the event are priced at between S$40 and S$120.
