Spanning over 50 years, the collection features a number of contemporary and modern works created by native artists. Specialising in south-east Asian art, the display not only includes work from Singapore, but also from Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. As well as providing a chance for visitors to learn more about the region's art, the exhibition also highlights the connection between art and social, economic and political issues. Art of Our Time runs until November 8th, however other exhibitions on display until next year include the inaugural 8Q-rate: School showcase of up-and-coming Singapore-based artists. The exhibition features the installation work of eight young artists and has been put together by eight different curators all exploring the concept of "school".
