A sunny destination will host an equally bright celebration later this year for holidaymakers checked into a Singapore hotel to enjoy.

From October 3rd to 12th, the annual Singapore Sun Festival will take place, giving attendees the chance to enjoy musical performances, fine food and, of course, sunshine.

The New Straits Time says that the festival is "fast becoming one of the most celebrated events in the republic".

Entering its third year, the festival has been inspired by an event which was organised by a group of musicians and began in Tuscany.

After becoming a success in California as well as Italy, the event reached Singapore where it has become a firm favourite with locals.

In 2008, the festival featured professional Thai Chi lessons, operatic performances, a wine auction and appearances from celebrity chefs.

Holidaymakers seeking entertainment during a visit to Singapore will be able to see one of the world's biggest industrial rock groups perform in the city later this year.

On August 10th, US group Nine Inch Nails will give what they have promised will be one of their final performances for the foreseeable future.
