News|Singapore Cricket Club International Rugby Sevens 2008Known locally as the Friendly Sevens, the annual tournament takes place between November 1st and 2nd at the Pedang. Dozens of athletes from tops clubs in Europe, Africa and the Asia Pacific region will descend on the region to battle it out in the hope of winning the prestigious Ablitt Club. Participating teams this year include the Casuarina Cougars, Davetalevu, Kurumi Tamariva RFC, Impala, the PNG Rookies, SA Vipers, the Thai Barbarians and the Scottish Thistles. The Singapore Cricket Club International Rugby Sevens is one of the oldest tournaments in the world and one the foremost international club competitions in Singapore. It is hosted every year by the Pedang - where the games have been played since the 1880s. This year, the tournament's official sponsors include Guiness Singapore Rugby, Breitling, Aquatic, Aggreko, AeroGate and Anglo Info.
