Lovers of all things Japanese will get the chance to appreciate the best the island country's contemporary culture has to offer, as the Japanese Media Arts Festival comes to Singapore next week.

The 'Growing Together' festival, which showcases a vast range of media elements of Japanese popular culture, takes place at the Singapore Art Museum between Friday November 21st and Sunday 14th December.

A range of award-winning new media art, manga, animation and Japanese entertainment will be displayed at the event, along with a variety of digital and new technologies.

An interactive section with various popular entertainment systems such as Ninentendo and the Wii will also be showcased at the festival.

In addition, guests will be treated to a series of talks, dialogue sessions, anime film screenings, robot-making workshops and competitions.

The festival began in 1997 and has since become a popular fixture of the south-east Asian media and entertainment calendar, attracting scores of visitors every year.
