Where sleek modern skyscrapers meet rich relics of a remarkable past, nestled amidst newly developed highways and city streets, among verdant parks and iconic structures, the diversity of Singapore is overwhelming. With a host of diverse places to see in Singapore, it is the ideal getaway for a fun-filled expedition, making it the most popular destination for international travellers.

A haven of historical artefacts, the National Museum of Singapore is one of Singapore’s four main galleries and is notably the oldest museum in the country. Through the years it has made many cities its home, but finally relocated to its permanent site at Stamford Road, the Museum Planning Area in 1887.

In 2006, the Museum reopened its gallery hallways following three years of renovation, with its new wing, the Singapore History Gallery. The National Museum is renowned for its iconic architecture, with a seamless fusion of contemporary and traditional architectural designs against the original structure by Colonel Sir H E Mc Callum. The flawless combination of metal and glass, adds the signature detail synonymous to the towering skyscrapers the city is famous for. The renovation has made the museum the largest in Singapore, spread across 18,400 square meters.

Redefining the experience of cultural art and historical masterpieces, the Museum also hosts a number of vibrant events and festivals throughout the year, including exhibitions and film screenings.

Accommodation at the Copthorne King’s Hotel Singapore, lets guests experience 4-star comfort, a myriad of customised services and a host of modern amenities amid contemporary interior designs, the charm of a boutique hotel and warm Asian hospitality.
